I don't know anything about the history of this old hand puppet

which creates a surface with a fine grit like sandpaper

with a few very tiny (barely noticeable) chips in the lacquer on its body on one side and a tiny bit of loss of lacquer around the very bottom edge of the base--none of which I think detract from the vase overall
