This wonderful little watercolor painting feels so familiar

which led me to learn that images of babies spilling and dropping things (usually in tears) seems to have been a bit of a thing in the early years of the 20th century

and not one but three brass pins on each--two on the diagonal and a great brass spinner at the center (and these spin very nicely

and looks great on the counter or shelf

TM 90 (perhaps dating it to 1990 though I am not certain) and measures 1 1/2 inches by 1 1/8 inches (and weighs 18 grams)

Essex crystals are also known as 'reverse intaglios, ' made of a cabochon of colourless rock quartz that has been carved on the flat side after which the details of the design are painted, creating a three dimensional 'trompe l'oeil effect'. I believe that is the case here, or at least it was made,
